Default ebay 959 / 924?

Found this on the 924/944/968 forum:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...&category=6058

The description is more than a little hard to read, but it seems the car has a VIN from a 924? And in the pictures section there's a shot of a 928! No wonder there are no bids to speak of...

This is a pretty cheap conversion of a 911, and he says the only difference to the original 959 is that it's rear wheel drive only. Gosh, he SO does not have a clue...

He's probably selliing because he wants to drive the two better Porsches.

This guy's in Michigan. I just invited him to the 928 beer night tonight. I'd like to see that car up close and meet the seller.

Default Description?

"A little hard to read" ?? LOL!!!

Got to see it to know anything and with his feedback, I wouldn't venture the trip. Oh, and private auction. That always reassures me.

Its a pur sportz cur, jus like a 959 exep a fu thangs.

The car has a 928 vin but its clearly a 911 chassis....? Looks pretty spartan at that. I doubt its really a 1989, at least the 911 door panels dont look like 89's.

My biggest concern is that he didnt do the conversion himself, he may have applied the overlay body panels with superglue or latex caulk.

His buy it now price is $34,000, thats HISTERICAL!!!

Correction, its supposed to be a 1998. Again, why wreck a perfectly good 98' 911? Its worth more as a 911 than this thing. Why does he think he has a 98'? I wouldnt trust a single thing this guy says, it has to be checked completely out.
I hope someone goes to meet this character, that would be an interesting meeting.
But looking at the steering wheel, seats, door panel, engine compartment I would think the donor car is early 80's.
Honestly I doubt it will rise beyond $8k.

Thumbs down Strange dayz

What in the world?

"this is not the 130.000.00 thousend dollre one(959). but the only difrens is this is 2 weel drive"

Duh? What a mistake to spend time and money to make that conversion.

This guy has no right to be anywhere near any of those Porsches.

One of the strangest eBay post I have seen.

If I had the extra money I'd buy that miserable thing just to get it out of his hands!

Hysterical or historical? I think both would apply. Nobody has asked that much for that kind of junk before....

Just got a reply email from the seller. I've now asked him what model year car he used for this project and whether any other modifications have been done beyond changing the exterior.

Not interested in buying it, just curious.
