Wow, lots of holes in this story...

http://washingtondc.craigslist.org/n...483222112.html

Hello, I will do my best to describe this car. It's very rare , I highly doubt there's another like it in the USA . . This car is rare , due to the age and other things. In 1978 this car was not available in the USA until 1984 .and was illegal to import over. This one got in. Lol Making it a gray market car. Rare to find with a manual transmission . 5 stick . This car also has an original strosek spoiler package , which had to be requested because it was not stock. It cost an additional , 25 000 new. All Fiberglas . This car is mostly fiberglass . Except for the roof , and a few other places . It came fully loaded . Which included a built in radar detector.
The rims are not the originals , these rims and wheels were 5000.00 new . Forged aluminum .low profile . Tubeless .
This car has 65,000 original miles . It runs strong and sounds sexy! The car needs a water pump . New fuel lines , new paint , and lots of cosmetic work , like rubber seals replaced , interior cleaned up , etc.
this is a great project car. The good part is, the high dollar parts are good . Motor has no issues. Just that water hose , which I have priced at 150 .
This car has a clean and clear title . If this car was restored it would be worth twice as much maybe more due to its rarity .
Please do not contact me to tell me you are a huge collector of Porsche, and that you have several . If you think I am incorrect ,about this car , please do your homework . I assure you I'm correct . Most Porsche collectors , do not know much about gray market cars . I'm
Sorry , I am just burned out of the know it alls tools I've spoke to in the bast. Lol Its exhausting , just keep in mind, I'm still a woman, just looking to sell my cars , not looking for you to educate me on what you think I have , or about all the Porsches you have. I really don't care. Just want to Sell it. Im sorry , Not trying to sound harsh.
This car is really rare. I'm sure I'm underselling it. However, I know it will take money and time to make it pretty again . I know the past owner who had it and brought over from Germany . All the writing in the car is in German . There are only 10 serial numbers if I'm remembering that correctly . I know there are less than reg cars . If you call me I will try to answer your questions .

Just leave it alone. There's no reason to troll her.

Sure is hilarious though.

Gotta love those "tubeless" rims. Amazingly advanced for the time.

No pics of the interior.

Needs either a water pump or a water hose. AFAIK, neither goes for $150.

Putting aside the commentary, I do find myself looking at the pics and wondering how much of the original metal is hiding under the plastic stick-on kit

Never know.. it could be a really low VIN euro 78 (some of the original press cars are MIA and in the USA).

Trolling this person would be the opposite of funny/clever/smart/nice.

I'm thinking she got the cars as part of a divorce settlement. I really doubt this is a collection of cars she bought and semi-restored on her own.

There may be an interesting Euro 1978 hidden underneath the fiberglass.

Yes, it will be interesting to see the VIN if she adds it to the ad.

I have seen this car listed multiple times, on many different sites. Never can get any info other than what you see. Same old pics, with a different story.
