I was hoping that someone might know the Mercedes part number for the kit....or know more about what spring needed to be removed.

Anyone here know of a Mercedes Forum, like this, where people know volumes about 1980-1990 Mercedes?

Peach Parts is a good one. I used to know someone who I was close friends with, but have not spoken to him for 12 years. That guy knew EVERYTHING about 1980s and 90s Mercedes.

This is an old post from Steve Cattaneo in a Mercedes forum on the subject. All he mentions is an aluminum plate. It might also be a useful forum to explore further. Another thought, maybe someone on RL has contact information for Steve?
