Default Replacing rear taillights

From an earlier post, I finally got my 86 928 home late last night. A couple of the right taillights are out. Is it fairly easy to get at them & can I get them at the local AutoZone/O'Reillys or do I need them from Pelican Parts. Haven't had a chance to look at how to gain access to them yet.
Thanks Todd

4 phillips screws and the lenses will come off. Buy 2 lights when replacing, (always replace in pairs)

Kent, I've got a BendPak 9000lb lift. It requires at least 11' ceiling height I believe. My ceiling is 11'7" tall.

the bulb check function which triggers the ! warning light is VERY sensitive to resistance.....some off the shelf bulbs will trigger warnings... Brake light warning pops up until you step on the brake ... Just a small sampling of the complexity of the 928 electrical system

Can you use LEDs back there? Would they need to be installed with resistors to prevent the warning light?

Mine has done this ever since I have owned it. I thought it was just the way it was supposed to be. What do I need to do to make it right?

^^^^ if you read the owners manual you will find out how the bulb check works and what should happen when you turn on the key

Thanks Merlin. I thought mine was doing what it was supposed to. Just trying to over-think it I guess!!
