Default back in a shark

hi all

well the wife finally persuaded me to replace my previously sold S2. so we bought a '86 S2, 4.7L 16v euro auto with the S4 running gear.

it has doen 72K miles and seems to have been looked after.

i have one problem, the car judders when picking up from over run, engine mounts are new, had a full geometry setup and wheel balance. engine fully serviced.

the car runs fine on the cruise, but as the engine/transmission takes up the load from over run, at any speed, including standstill, there is a quite pronounced judder.....which then clears as the cars accelerates. also seems to hang onto the gears, at any throttle position. kickdown switch is NOT bridged out.

i haven't checked the autobox fluid level, or condition, so maybe ought to replace autobox filter and fluid first.

oh....also slow to change from drive to reverse, or reverse to drive, slow and quite a clunk when it does change.

any ideas?

damn fine to be back on the road in a shark!!!

regards to all

Congrats and welcome back!

As far as your judders, and slow to shift into reverse/drive, your best bet is to change your filter and fluid in the transmission.
