Smile 928 Owners, A Strange Bunch

I have a gallery up on Rennlist with pictures of my 928 with some great Hawaiian scenery in the background.

However, the most viewed pictures are of my engine and the car's interior.

These are the shots, which to an average eye show the least. To the discerning 928 owner's eye, they show the most, don't they?

Similiar to horse owners checking teeth and hooves ...

Another reason to be a proud part of this community.

Aloha,

For some reason I hate Hawaiians...... perhaps it has something to do with the snow.......

I get that syndrome around this time of year too, Brian. You seeing any of that white stuff over there yet?

Well, considering how immaculate that interior is... You just can't see that anywhere else! You might not (yet) realize what you've got in this car. Most 928s that age are worn, torn and warped inside. This can one day serve as an example for a correct restauration. Please keep it up!!!

I once wrote that your side moldings were not mounted correctly. I can now see that what you have are not the original factory moldings, so they are probably just stuck on with the double sided trim tape. The factory original side moldings require drilling holes, and once it's done incorrectly, there is no easy way to fix it. Seems no harm was done to your shark.

If you ever consider selling it, please let me know. Some day I want to own an early shark with phone dials, and make it concours ready, while keeping the S4 for driving pleasure. My wallet just has not (yet) set the stage to do this...

We had a foot of the white stuff the second week in Sept, but it's given way to a nice warm Indian Summer. Been in the high 70's/low80's since the snow. This can last until X-mas eve for all I care!!

Very nice '79. Whats the color called? Is it original paint? It looks like it might be Copper Brown Metallic. One recommendation i might make to you is to get spacers to widen the track and fill out the rear wheel wells. I have a set on mine front and rear, though the smaller front spacers are on there i suspect to better accomodate the "s" calipers and rotors that were added by a PO.

The shot of your interior looks as good as mine. Maybe better. Leatherique twice a year keeps mine looking tops all year round.

Hey James,

How about a less fuzzy picture of the engine? I hate to miss important details there.

No comment on the other pix, I didn't look at them.

Cool homesick

James:

Will you please stop posting photos of Hawaii?? They are making me homesick

The Hawaii PCA drive photo is just beside Sandy Beach, and I miss the beach.

If you don't stop doing this, I may need a psychiatrist .
