Deal of the year! You found a 1/2-off sale.
Gorgeous through and through with the exception of the dash which Rob Budd can sort out.

Thx for the nice comments. The wife & I are excited to add this to the Porsche stable. I wasn't sure about the color when I saw originally in his garage. Really like it now that I've seen it outside & we have the car.

Jesus dude, that color is sick, esp. with the interior combo...you change your mind please PM me first! I'll make it worth your while...That's a very rare combo on a rare model in rare shape. This coming from a guy who searches daily for such things...It's very likely one of one....

Truth be told...you should be arrested...since you stole this car.
And, just too make sure you don't profit from your friends awesome deal and friendship, I would recommend you sell this car at a loss...to let's say...someone in Michigan...then your friendship would remain intact or possible he'd even feel sorry for you if you told him you lost 4000.00 on the sale. Just a thought.
I believe, once you become more knowledgeable on 928's...you will understand how lucky you are...this car is awesome in every respect.
Congratulations,
Brian.
P.S. I'll even meet you at Rob Budd's place in Dearborn to complete the transaction...after you have the dash fixed of course...this is just the type of guy I am...no need to thank me.

Boy with friends like you guys, who need enemies. LOL. Definitely going to take the car up to Rob Budd as soon as the weather breaks.
Definitely not saying when for fear the car will disappear.....

It's looks to be a very very nice car, love the color combo, full leather, great price for a car w/ original Intake coating and untarnished metal bits under the hood, well done sir.!!
How do you know its an 86.5?
From the placement of the Fuel Tank vent valve on the Fender and not the cross bar I'd say late 85 to early 86.
You can fairly easily check the belt tracking by removing the Cross Brace on
top (fender to Fender) as its the only safe way to remove the "NLA" Intake tube w/o damage.
Then start the engine and while it's idling look into the sight / vent holes on the top of the upper belt covers (left and right) with a flash light.
The belt should be running true, little to no wobble and slightly back from the front edge of both gears so that you can see the gear teeth, if its not (usually the right one goes out first), a belt service is needed.
Best of luck to you with that gorgeous ride!
