Purchased my first 928 today
Last summer my wife & I were with friends at their place & he mentioned about possibly selling his 86 928S. The wife stayed on me to get this car for her. Today we went over to look at it in more detail along driving it. The scoop on the car is that it is a 2 owner car with 98k miles, 5 speed, nutmeg metallic. It also comes with 2 additional full sets of rims which I will put on the car. I'm not partial to the Fittipaldi rims that are on it now. I do know the mechanic extremely well who has worked on the for the past 10 years & he said there's nothing that needs to be done on the car at this point. We are checking when the TB/water pump was last done.Every single receipt/work order ever done is included as the past owners were fastidious keeping the maintenance up to date. There are a couple of paint chips on the hood, there is a strange bend in the top of the driver side right fender (almost like a tire scrubbed it too hard) and lastly the leather around the dash vents up top has a little bow and is pulling away. We agreed upon a price of $7500so I can afford to look after the little stuff to really sort the car out.
Is there a way to repair the leather around the dash vents. Other than that area it is in great shape.

Stunning, very, very neighborly price, rare exterior color, sport seats, 2 tone interior, 5spd, and looks to be very well cared for. Your wife has great taste and you sir hit the jackpot on this one. Would advise to e-mail Rob Budd pics of the dash:info@classic9leathershop.com http://www.classic9leathershop.com What's the VIN ? Might also be an 86.5=bonus.
Also diggin that 991 GT3. T

Yes! What lottery jackpot you've just hit! Not only are you getting a beautiful car from a trusted source and a trusted mechanic at a great price, but it was your wife that wanted it! Can you past on some of whatever you give your wife to mine?
Congratulations!
Congratulations!

Thanks for the kind words. Her summer ride is an 86 911 Cab. She's a car nut thru and thru. Even does the occassional DE with my 996TT beast.
Any ideas on the dash as to who can do this type of work. I'm at a loss on what type of company can handle this type of repair especially in Toledo Ohio

The "euro nivea cream" jury is still out - may help stretch the leather so it can be tucked back under...may be worth a shot as its not shrunk too badly...

Beautiful car! I love the ext color. Not so much the wheels though. I could do without the mud flaps too, but some like them and they are OEM.
It's a shame that a car that was obviously taken care of, can still have the leather dash warp like that. Rob Budd does unbelievable work.
Engine looks like it's sitting low to me. Maybe new motor mounts will be needed soon?
Thanks for sharing and have fun with her!!

Chance of this sale in the state of California: zero. I have no doubt that even a monkey could sell that car here for way north of $10,000. Hell I'd probably pay $13,000 for it myself.
