starts then dies
ok so i need help but heres a short back story...
bought a non running, sat for close to 20 yrs 1982 928 5 spd
so i drained and cleaned the fuel tank, new fuel filters, new pump, blew out the fuel lines, new vacuum lines and new rubber fuel lines, had the injectors and cold start valve cleaned by witchhunter, cleaned the grounds on the passengers valve cover, all the fuses are replaced, new fuel pump relay, i have spark, i have fuel up to the injectors... i turn the key to start it,it runs for a couple seconds and dies, if i pour fuel down the throttle body, it runs till it runs out, until the engine warmed up, then it ran for a while, shut it off and it wouldnt start again...this was a week or so ago...
i ordered fuel pressure regulators, and the damper, and the temp switch, installed them, charged the battery ( since my glove box light killed it while it sat in the cold) while installing all these... not much of a charge...
it started, and died like usual. if i have time tomorrow or the next couple days ill get back to it.
so what am i missing?im pretty sure i have the vacuum lines correctly as i did replace them one at a time..could a bad alternator do this ( it read on the gauge good)
