He's out driving. I certainly was when I got mine running the first time.

Wondering how you asked all those questions when your account shows only one post?

Good luck on bringing her back to life!

Default From the barn.....pics!

Here's some early progress shots from a very cold garage in Atlanta (Sandy Springs actually) this week. Lovely matte-black (over dark brown originally) paint. Interior panels are all there, but in pretty bad shape. Still getting the gas tank cleaned out, so test running it stand-alone on a small fuel cell now that the fuel system is clean, flushed, and has new bits. Lots to do. I have a pile of bits (timing belt, etc.) from the good folks at 928 Intl, since I don't know how old the belt really is.

Several have commented that my "searches" were not visible prior to joining - all true! I try to practice the "seek out known knowledge before bothering people" approach, and Google Search and Rennlist Search are most helpful in so doing. But I also try to appreciate and acknowledge those who have cleared a path and recorded the journey so the rest of us won't have to suffer quite so much. So again, a hearty "Thank You!" to all those who have shared their hard-won wisdom and wit on this forum! I hope to add to that along the way.

Work gets in the way of the truly important things - kids, family and toys, but I'll try to keep some updates as this progresses. Hope to have this puppy out of the garage after the thaw!

Default From the barn....follow-up

Yes, it really was in a barn, although I didn't know that when I headed out to look at it. I was starting to hear banjo music when I got close, but the seller was a great guy, who realized this was more than he wanted to take on. Maybe I can sneak back out there for a photo....worth it for the story.

Congratulations, on your new acquisition.

After reading your first post, which is somewhat confusing, you mention fuel lines replaced. So, I take it you mean the ones under the hood? Hope so...or I wouldn't be starting that car in the garage...especially if it is an attached garage. There are two rubber fuel lines along the passenger side exhaust manifold that need attention if they haven't been done already. If you have...then all good.

Good luck, with the rest of your repairs. Plenty of knowledge here, as you already know.

Again, congrats and welcome to the crew.

Brian.
