Default Chassis/engine/Vin decoder

Hey does anyone know of a site that decodes VIN #'s
showing engine codes and other good info like that.

www.928gt.com has all of the infirmation in the tips section.

hey I checked the site, it didn't have what I was looking for, I am looking for an actual VIN decoder which tells engine code or how to read it

There's an engine code section on the site. The Porsche VIN does not include the engine code. It relates to model, year and serial number only.

Or, you can look under the carpet in the trunk and, maybe, find the square white sticker with all the option codes, engine code, and tranny code on it. If it's there you can go back to the site I gave you and all the option codes will be listed.

I have the sticker but didnt the engine code on there, I will look again, also I have the factory manuals which have that sticker in there too

Look on PET - select the model year, and then any page. Once you are there , open the "functions" tab at the top.

From memory, you can look up engine codes, translission codes, and "M" codes (option codes)
