I personally saw this car at BJ on Sunday. Indeed the pics of it in the ebay add are from the outside parking where it was parked. I wrote of this car on some other thread here. Regardless, the paint was in pretty good condition. The interior not bad either. No cracks in the dash though there was a little driver's side bolster wear. I did not hear it run or looked at the engine or underneath. And until now could tell how many miles were on it. If the front bumper situation was a minor repair, and it ran well, this car required no paint or interior work beyond a good cleaning and treatment. I thought it was a steal at $5k. Still is if you put $5k into it. Not many miles for 35 year old car.

EDIT: I asked the ebay seller the following question. I wonder if they will respond or if it will appear in the Q/A section at the bottom of the ad

The front internal bumpers looked as if they were compressed indicating a front end impact, The hood alignment is also off and the left headlight appears to pushed in about an inch. I believe I saw this car at Barrett Jackson this past weekend. Your pics indicate it is the same car as it is parked in the same spot where I saw it. Can you confirm the condition of the front end and if indeed if this was the car sold at Barrett Jackson. I am a serious bidder if this is a different vehicle. Thank you for your answer.

This car has run the eBay route twice now, first up to $8000 and just now up to $8700, and both times not reaching the reserve. The Seller told me that she (a lady in the wheel business in Las Vegas) usually triples her money on auction purchases, so I have no idea what the reserve might be on this 928, although she is selling it for someone else, the collector who is real picky about his cars, apparently even the ones he buys to flip. I too told her about the front bumper struts and even about the wrong color of paint on the front bumper cover. Then, after claiming that they had repaired the transmission, she asked me if I knew why a 928 transmission would work in drive but not in reverse. She is going to have the trans repaired, again? I think it will be a little while before this one shows up again on eBay, if it ever does.

That is perhaps the funniest post in years..... a 200 % profit margin is ridiculous but I guess if you will try to sell a car with a bad transmission and not disclose it.....what else would you hide ????

I thought I saw a question on one of the E-Bay ads something to the effect of "How much to buy it now?"
With an answer of $15k to $18k.

Oh my. A bit optimistic.

Yeah, she only triples her investment from auctions? Slacker - I won't settle for less than quadruple profit when I flip a car.

For Sale: Bridge from Manhattan to Brooklyn. Hardly used, comes with all attachments.

Nah, it's Chasing Classic Cars with Carini.

He always makes out on his show. Always. However, I personally know of a deal where he took a massive bath on a vintage Caddy. That transaction did not make it on the show.
