Default Gap around headlight

I recently put a new fender on and noticed a gap around the headlight in the down position. Is there an inner piece to close the gap or is that normal? Seems like it would not be aerodynamic for such a gap.

Pictures? Hard to tell without them... take a few from different angles, especially if you can get both headlights in the shot.

It's hard to see the gap. You can see the light showing the holes in the plastic guard inside the wheel well.

Seems about right..does the fender gap measure right and even where it should?
Hood, at the door, etc?

Yes, the fender went on perfectly. Thanks to the advice of you guys here. The other fender also has a gap. I just thought a gap around the lights was odd. I guess that it is not an issue.

Your car has only one headlight? It it had two you could compare with the headlight that is in the fender you did not change.

It has a gap also. The car looks like it had a respray at some time well before I got it. I hadn't noticed until I changed out the fender. My thought was that the Previous owner left something off .

Looks right. Raise both headlights fully and see if they seat in the same relative position and are not grabbing or rubbing with the fender. If everything goes up / down well, you should be good to go.

Porsche had to leave some clearance for snow and ice build up....since in their minds it was a car to be driven no matter what the weather after all snow wheels were an option. Plus it snows in Germany. They were not making show cars or collector pieces.....

That gap can be minimized by adjusting the headlight pod stop position. Accessible behind the wheel well liner.
