CIS Control Pressure Fluctuates Fast and Wild
Hi There,
I was wondering if anyone else has come across this problem.
I have rebuilt my '78 928 K-Jet fuel distributor, Warm up regulator and fuel pressure regulator.
When I set the test guage to measure system pressure, I get a nice 75~80 psi which is in the correct range, so I assume the fuel pressure regulator is working ok.
However when I turn the valve to measure the control pressure, it goes to about 40psi, and then suddenly the pressure fluctuates between 10 and 100psi at a rate of maybe 10 times per second, which makes a terrible racket and I'm sure it's not good for my poor guage...let alone the rest of the system.
I have the entire system on the work bench to try and make it easier to work on, which means I'm using just a pump, no accumulator straight into FD and all the injectors connected as well as WUR, with return hose going back to fuel can. Would the lack of the accumulator cause this?
I look forward to your response.
Cheers
Marty
