The no crimp and solder is not authorized on aircraft mainly because of the ability for consistent reproducibility. Everyone solders a bit differently.

J-STD-001E. Requirements for. Soldered Electrical and Electronic.
That being stated, for some applications we are using both methods on aircraft weapons systems, definitely not the norm.
Total over kill for our cars.
I however do use both methods together for some applications.

FYI, you can't crimp the connections on the factory 14 pin connector, they have to be soldered.

GM actually has some hoses that are also quick release but not motorsports quality. For the interior I think the molex plugs(weather pack) are the best compromise between cost and quality.
Something I didn't initially realise was that electrical fittings are rated for disconnects. That is how many times you can do and undo the fitting and it remain reliable. Some fittings are only rated at ten disconnects. Something to consider.
