I did install the cooler spark plug when I installed the EZ Chip, and as I mentioned now have the 24lb injectors in hand to install along with the LH chip.

If the timing is more advanced at idle with Ken's chip than the stock EZK chip, the LH may be tricked into over-fueling. Ken is the expert here on this one.

Just for the record, I started my car with the garage door closed to pull it forward real fast. When I looked at the back of the door, it had carbon soot sprayed on it much like your garage floor. My car still has the stock LH and EZK chips and it did that.

Just tested car from the warmed up stand point, no soot. I am letting her cool down and will test again from start, its 20 out so it shouldn't take long to cool down!

Just repeated test with a cold motor, I got the black soot from a cold start.

The 928 (as most cars) run Rich when cold, if you are starting the car and not actually going for a drive and running the engine up to temp, indicated by the Oil pressure at 2 bar at idle and not the Temp gauge, the engine and exhaust will get a build up.

Then when starting the car the condensation from cold to hot will wash the black stuff out of the exhaust.

Get the engine correctly up to operating temp, and run her up (under load) through the gears to clean it all up. Revving engine w/ no load is not good and only adds to the problem as you are dumping more fuel than your burning.

Try this for starting and driving for a month and see if it all goes away.

Sounds to me the car is running fine. It just needs to be driven, which is advice I should take on myself as mine just sits right now too.

Mine is driven daily unless rain or snow, but it does on an occasion sit and idle in garage, especially while I have working with new audio system.

Considering that it is quite cold in your location, that can also play into carbon deposits as the Temp II is reading an awfully cold engine.
