Hi, I am trying to replace a teared injector boot and I can't get the pin out of the connector. Is there a trick to it? I inserted the extraction tool in the square opening beside the pin to release the tab, but it's not conning out. Does anybody knows if there is one or two tabs holding the pin? If there are two, how do you get to the second one since there is no access to it?
Thanks
Sylvain

The 3-pin one that I have with me does in fact have two tabs. But, mine has a access square on the top and the bottom of the pin, which would let me pop the 2nd tab.
I worked on a 2-pin a few weeks ago, and my recollection is that it too had 2 tabs, but also with access holes on the top and bottom.
Do you have a pic of the non-access-holed side?

I'm watching with lots of interest. I've had very little luck (no luck, actually) getting these particular style connectors apart.
And if I can finally get the plastic part off, I can never seem to get both of the metal contacts through the new Porsche boot.
I'm to the point where I don't even try, anymore.
I snip the whole thing off and start over.

Found some answers when reading about the AMP junior timer connector. It looks like the two small indentations identified in the picture bellow, are thermal crimp which prevent the terminal from being removed even if the retaining tab is being depressed. The only way to remove the terminal is to punch out the indentation crimp.
Now, I will work on getting the terminal through the small boot opening.
