rear camera routing
I know this has been covered some before but i could not find an answer to my question. I have searched.
i am installing a backup camera. i am using a wireless one and my question is is there any hole, etc to route the power wire from the backup light wire?
I can get behind the bumper cover via the tow eye access hole, butwhat is the best way to get into the car?

Front right corner of the spare tire wheelwell. The connector by my thumb is the connection for the reverse switch, from which you can posi-tap a wire to get 12V to power the camera when the trans is in reverse.

The 87 is wired differently.
Dealing the wsm diagrams the wires should be black with white stripe.... Can't fine anything that color in spare well.
Also wiring and connector style is much different in mine than what you have pictured

In looking at the factory wiring diagram for 93 GTS, and the pic of connector above, confirm the posi-tap of the two wires should be to the 'left' of the connector in the pic, with the ground wire of the backup light being tapped into the blue/black wire and the positive wire from the backup light being tapped into the blue wire.

I would just tap off the reverse bulb connections at either one of the tail lights, inside the tail light compartment. Then run it out of the tail light compartment with the rest of the wires.

Does anyone know the CE panel plug letter and wire designation on the plug of the blue and black wire that triggers the backup light on a 93 GTS?
What is easiest, least intrusive way to run video cable from rear ground point behind tool panel to the radio?

Have rear camera installed and it works...the problem the camera and its led lights are on fulltime. Clearly the wire I posi-tapped and checked continuity with in the CE panel was the incorrect CE panel location and the wrong Blue/Black wire in the rear compartment. Any ideas where inside the rear compartment a bundle with or the blue/black reverse wire is located so it can be tapped? Will I need to go under the car to find where to tap the reverse light/bundle containing reverse light wire? Or do I need to reexplore the CE panel to determine the correct wire to tap? Have gone thru wiring diagram for M249 (auto) so see it definitely looks like a blue/black wire. Question is where best to tap? The 93 GTS wires behind plastic in spare tire location are completely different than pic in thread above. Thanx for any help.

Assume your GTS car is actually an Auto? if you have a manual the configuration is different. Anyway you don't want to connect to both wires there only to one, the ground needs to go to a Brown Ground wire - there is a ground point available (either behind the plastic panel where that connector is - or near the tools tray Battery GP). For a manual connect to the Blue/Black wire as in Rob's photo. Back at the CE panel this is connector U12 (not U11).
Post a picture of what you have in that location.
