Can anyone shed some light on two Automatic Transmission options offered on the 1984 and 1985 Euro cars. One transmission has option code 249 and the other transmission has option code 251. We hear a lot about the manual transmissions. Does anyone have information on these two automatics?

 

One was the standard ratio Euro transmission (249) the other was the shorter geared "Swiss" transmission (251).

I still have one each of these, brand new in the box, complete with limited slips, torque converters, front housings, and wiring looms. As the prices of rebuilding continue to skyrocket, these are exceptional values.
