So... my key doesn't work on the rear hatch and there is no remote release. Is there a way to manually open the hatch, maybe from the inside? Before I adjusted the bottom receiver I could just yank on the hatch and it would pop up. Now it is quite tightly latched

 

You could try removing the tool panel and finding the linkage cam(?) behind the black metal support post and pull down. May require a good pull, and a little push up on the glass.
