Coolant level and coolant warning.

Coolant level and coolant warning.
Hi all,
Just have to add about 200cc of coolant to put it to exact level, the mark on the middle of the reservoir.
I know that as a closed system it should not be necessary to to up but as it was flushed a few months ago maybe only now it is completely bleed, without any air.
Anyway, the slightly low level did not trigger the low coolant warning light on dash, so I assume it wasn't low enough or there is a malfunction with the level sensor on the reservoir.
So my question is if it's possible to test the sensor without removing it from the reservoir, like put the two wires connected together or any other way.
Thanks for your answers.
Regards
