I am a huge fan of removing unnecessary or unused items. However I do this knowing it is somewhat personal preference and generally speaking will do nothing but lower the value. I don't want a car where someone else has done this! And I don't plan on ever selling my car so if it fancies you do it, if your concerned about resale value I wouldn't.
