4 post lift would be better for general use and durability reasons since it can hold more weight. But you need to find out if it can fit into your garage. you can check this measurements drawings for your reference.
Our 14,000# Bendpak 4 post is bolted to the floor simply because we have a goodly drop in the floor for drainage. I have 6" of spacer plates on one end to make it level. Attachment 984998
Where did you get those spacer plates? I contacted the manufacturer and they told me to use horseshoe shims even when I need to raise the end posts by 4".
