Default Front end Creaking and Popping

So I redid my front end. Springs, Shocks, Ball Joints, Arms. I use Carls Steel Arms. Passenger side is all fine, but my drivers side makes a horrible creaking sound with vertical travel. I took the wheel off, and jacked up the knuckle, and it made the sound. Below is a video.

Re-greassed everything and still no luck with making it go away. I can feel a popping in the rear part of the arm.

I think it its the A arm, but wondering if it can also be the spring, and how it is set. Any ideas and knowledge will be greatly appreciated on this one. I really don't what to have to break this all down and do it again. It was on of the tougher things to do.

thanks

Dang looking at the picture, I now am seeing that the lettering is upside down. Hopefully the springs are not directional..... Lots of pitfalls for the unknowing 928 mechanic...

based on the picture the adjusting collar is only capturing the threaded collar by a few turns,
this is a weak engagement .
FWIW the adjuster should have more threads engaged.
No telling where the creaking is coming from,
you need a stethoscope and a helper

Unbolt the spring from the lower arm, and the lower balljoint from the lower arm. Then you can move the lower arm and the upper arm separately to isolate the cause.

Building on Stan's comments: That inner threaded collar does't have enough threads on it to support the adjusting ring at that height. Those look like 928 International/Eibach springs. If they are, it's virtually impossible to maintain ride height in the factory range without adding spacers of some sort. I had 160mm with four threads exposed, and would need to have spacer rings made or find a set of factory spacers to get the ride height correct with the Eibach springs. DR found a set of almost-new factory sport springs which solved the ride height issue for me.

Thanks so much. these are Einbach springs. I got the set from Roger. I will have to learn about spacers and how those work. I did set to factory height. The car was pretty low, and that and redoing my MM is what prompted the front end refresh. I did notice that the collar was getting pretty high on the strut. Also when I got the springs, I had to double check with Roger because they were so much shorter.

I will separate the shock and isolate each control arm. and lower the spring. That is not that big of a job. maybe getting a better geometry will help things out some.
