Default '88 Temp II to LH Wiring

1988 S4 trying to find an accurate way to test the wiring from the Temp II Connector on the engine to the LH computer. The Nichols write up says connect ohm meter to pins 2 and 5 of the LH connector. When I do that, the ohm meter reads 0.00 as if it is a dead short. The diagram I have is of a '89 LH connector. There is no indication of a Temp II sensor terminal on that diagram.

I just went through this yesterday. It's the terminal labelled NTC or I believe #6 on the diagram.

I actually broke out the workshop manual and found the wiring diagram for 1988 and traced through the diagram. It is terminal #13 on the LH and terminal #19 on the EZK. You are right they are marked NTC II or also Temperature Sensor double NTC in the WSM wiring diagram. I checked the Ohm readings on an old temp II (didn't remove new one in car) and I knew I had the right terminals. Heated and cooled it and the Ohms went up and down. I will test the new one in the car tomorrow. I believe I will still have rough running idle and stalling which is the main issue until it warms and then it runs perfectly. Maybe the MAF???
