Have tried to search for threads regarding AC delete for our 928s, but I found mostly 911 materials. Currently, my engine is out of my '78 manual, and I am thinking about leaving the AC compressor out and taking out the condenser/evap out of the engine bay prior to putting in my new (old) engine.
Any tips and additional items I would need to remove or modifications to be done to have this accomplished?
Also, air pump delete. Any holes to be plugged or lines to be removed?
Thank you for any and all suggestions

Hoi,
I did both and then some deleting, once you get into it it is self explanatory. Just start looking at what you need to do and you'll figure it out. To get everything out that is AC related you need to remove the condenser which is behind the dash but it is heavy [7.5 lbs alone] and worth it.
I'm local to you [Haverford Pa], if you pm me we can chat..

Hoi on another tack ,
why not fix the AC system ,
its an early basic system and you need to install 3 new flex hoses.
Both lines from the compressor,
and the flex line that runs under the computer.
Use Greg browns repair kit for the flex line at the computer
and new green O rings and new Schrader valves, receiver drier and expansion valve.
Chances are the system will make cold air without much drama,
and the car will be worth more to the new owner or the current one

Hi Stan, I understand your thoughts and I had thought about doing just that prior to deciding to delete the AC from the '78. I will keep all the original parts around (4.5L engine, ac system, exhaust) in case I want to covert it back to original condition if values go up, but I really want to make the '78 manual as my "play thing" for now. 4.7L euro engine, checked. AC and air pump delete, checked. MSDS headers, checked. Borla exhaust, will be checked.
But I totally see your view in that AC will make driving it more enjoyable during hot summer months and possible future resale.
