Default Bypassing the Coolant level Sensor on 88 S4

Hey everyone, my 88s4 has a lit coolant light. Long story, But my Whole CW system was not working. I reflowed the solder points, and It's Alive. everything is fine, but my coolant light stays on. I know I will prob need a new sensor, but I had to be picked up off the floor when I saw the price. I will replace someday, but right now, I am looking to find out if there is a way to bypass the circuit.

I read that just unplugging the connector will not work. I discovered, that when the sensor is at the bottom of its limits, it sets a closed circuit, and when it is at the top, it has about 1000 ohms of resistance.

Has anyone tried putting in a 1000 ohm resistor and seeing if that works.
