you would need all the ECU/wiring, etc, stuff as was said. thats the main thing
the best way to use the later 85 US engine into an early car, is to just use the bottom end 5 liter part. otherwise, once you try and use the entire engine, how does things like "spark" work? dual coils, ECU, all the wiring for the MAF and other sensors, that are different than the US pre 85. much easier to just use the block and build a high displacement 2 valve. (but try and find all the euro top end stuff if you dont already have it).. if you do have a euro and are wanting to convert, the euro has big valves, higher compression, and a decent cam to make the package work very well in all areas of performance.

I sold my euro engine to a fellow Rennlister several weeks ago. No euro heads for me...
