Default For Sale HVAC head unit controller New In Box

-UPDATE- (one time price drop.. $300 shipped in the US.)

Gentlemen I have a New Old Stock 928 HVAC control unit, it comes in the original box.

The part # on the unit is 94.139.41.197

I'm not exactly sure which year cars this will fit so please do some research.

These are anywhere from $1000-1200 from Porsche. (UPDATED price) I'd like $300.. Shipping is on me if within the US.

Feel free to PM if interested or post here.

Thx

The absence of a recirc indicator at the left end of the lower slider makes it 89 or earlier

That part number is for 80-83.5 , interesting that it has euro markings as it's called out in PET as being for USA.

PET probably grouped all North American as USA.........could have been made for the Canadian market.

Likely- It also says 'CAL' under notes, perhaps it was a typo and they meant 'CAN'? (Except that PET abbreviates Canada as CDN....)

Yes, that's not the right unit in the box.

I'm guessing that a Euro unit got removed when fairly new and a US unit got installed. The Euro unit ended up in the box.

The good news is that the only difference is the faceplate and that is easy to change.

This is a good buy, given the condition of most of the ones I get in to rebuild.

Thank You for the input Greg, totally makes sense...The unit does look new so I'm guessing it was switched out when the the car was purchased.

Echo Echo was 83 only IIRC. Sent a spare I harvested to Greg a few years ago for cost of shipping

Default For Sale HVAC head unit controller New In Box

---SOLD---

-UPDATED PRICE- $300 shipped within the US.

I feel this is a steal of a deal for anyone who could fit this.

I will not be lowering it further, if it doesn't sell at the adjusted price I'll put it on the spare parts shelf.

Thx

Can we clarify which US years this is a direct drop in for?

Just for comparison, this is the one in my US 80:

O K so it has been determined that it is NOT NEW......has it been proven that it even functions properly ??? Hard to imagine someone swapping it out just because the temp scale is "wrong"....but stranger things have been done to 928s.

When did we determine that it's not new? It doesn't have a mark on it, looks brand new.

If it was in fact a swap it was when the car was new (thus the unit is still new) at any rate, with my previous asking price of $450 Greg stated it was a good deal, so I would think at $300 it's a steal..No?

given the WRONG part # on the box it has to be suspect....and most Euro cars were not imported when new but later as used cars and then certified. But changing out the A/C head was NOT required or done in most cases. As Greg mentioned it LOOKS very nice .....
