Default JK tension tool and 944

Will Jay Kempf belt tension tool work on 944? I think there was some talk in e-mail list long time ago that there would be 944 version of it. Did it ever lead to anything? Several 944 Turbos have been in same barn as GTS lately for belt change and I was just thinking if tool would work on them also.

Regards,

Erkka

Cool

Hi Erkka,

No, not on straight 4 cylinder 944. Wally P, one of our greatest experts answered that question recently.

I talked to Jay about this while we were over at Euro 928 2003. Jay has done some development work on a 944 version of the tool but it needs a lot more work. However, he changed jobs recently and new development is in slow mode while he transitions and helps grow the business. He has several interesting 928 projects he is tinkering with as well (I could tell you, but then I'd have to kill you). One bonus of his job change is he can actually funnel production of his products through the new engineering company he is working for, as their primary business is manufacturing specialized parts (sheet metal, precision castings, etc.) for many well known manufacturers around the nation. This should benefit us all in quality, availablity and cost.
