It doesn't give you any build year info, does it?

By build year you mean its 'born-on' date? The VIN decal in the door jamb should list the month and year of production.

Unless you mean something else?

I'd want to see under that plastic cap on top of the pod, and I can't tell if there's a dash cap on it as well. Judging by the tops of the rear seats it's seen a bit of sun but I love the color combo and that interior. No rubstrips!

Leather needs some attention, perhaps a new bolster panel on the driver's seat and a re-color, but that's all do-able.

Looks pretty unmolested, original radio, looks like.

No pics of underhood? Who sells a Porsche without a pic of the engine? Would want to see evidence of recent work on the maintenance records, and who did the work.

All that said, an '87 5-speed with good paint, fixable interior issues, in a cool color combo, no rubstrips, LSD, no rear A/C, with up-to-date maintenance is easily a $15-17K car. All contingent on the above actually being true- it looks good enough that it's worth getting a PPI.

Paint is the most valuable part on a 928. Looks very good from here.

Negotiate on the cracked pod and dash, dash cracks ruin a car, make me crazy, and are expensive to fix properly.

Then there's the $4K or so it'll take to make it really nice.

15 year owner. Owner is claiming no dash issues. All maintenance performed by local shop and he is putting me in contact with mechanic.

Interior needs to be completely redone in my opinion. With that said i absolutely love the color combinations and would keep it the same.

Cool car. If you get it, hang on to the original flat disk wheels (not the D90's that are on it) . It was hard to give these away five years ago, but I have a feeling that they are going to become sought after in another five years, especially if they are in good condition. Same with the stock rear muffler. (The car looks like it has an RMB) If the stocker comes with the car, hold onto it. I think this is another item that is going to be hard to find as time goes on because so many owners have trash canned them.
This is a cool car with a great color combo. If you can live with just doing reversible mods, and can return it to stock, you could have a good value if it is bought right. It is too bad they drilled a hole through the tool kit cover, probably had a battery cut off switch mounted back there. Very common to install when the car will be sitting for weeks at time inbetween drives, but could also indicate that the car may have an issue holding a charge.
Good luck with the hunt, definitely a quary worth pursuing.
