If you are attending the Rennsport5 Reunion event next week at Laguna Seca Raceway, we will have our new Gen2 928 16v exhaust headers on display. Stop in and say Hi at the MSDS,inc. exhibit on merchant /vendor row. We mfg. each merged collector and mandrel formed long tube header by hand. The new Gen2 merged collector offers the best gains in HP/ Tq. over standard collectors. We have also designed a new one piece laser formed cylinder head flange. We will have updates on dyno and track results in the coming months, when our independent tuners report back. Photo of the right- side MSDS Gen2 16v 928 header shown here.
See you at the races !

We will have the Racers Net pricing updated on the msdsinc.com site shortly after the Rennsport5 event. Although these newer Gen2 merged style headers are more expensive to mfg. , we are keeping the new Generation pricing very close to our prevailing old style headers.
Thank you for your intetest.

I have them on my '80. The question regarding how do they sound is difficult to answer as I don't have stock mufflers. I would have to drive another 80 side by side to really evaluate the difference
It does feel that my car breathes really well and it has a lot of grunt in 5th gear which is where I think the headers come into play.

One comment I've heard about the Gen 1 headers is that when installed, one of the collector bolt holes is at 6 o'clock and tends to scrape over bumps. If this is true, it would be great if before going to production if you could clock the flanges so the flatter portion is on the bottom ( mounting holes at 4, 8, and 12 o'clock) to increase ground clearance.

the late Devek, and some off shore counterfeits, that might be the style with ground clearance issues.
The new Gen2 available now are also in the same proper alignment. Our assembly and mandrel forming fixtures are QC'd regularly, which keeps our products at 100% fit and function.
