I need to know how to reattach the courtesy lights throughout my 84. Of course I know (I think) that the door switch and light switch ground the light for operation, but I can remember which leads to hook to which after gutting the car months ago (should have marked them!).
Who can tell me? I need to hook up the doors, headliner, and trunk lights.
ALSO I am getting ready to put the beige quarter panels, blue dash cover and other interior parts in the trash. I have a mint brown console for sale and a blue console with a broken tab that is free or goes in the garbage by Monday (tomorrow pickup day).
I also have a passenger door without rub strips for sale and a pair of front rotors that need a cut.

They are for an 84. I don't have any use for them but don't want them to go to the land fill. I can pick them up on Sunday on my way back from frenzy and keep them for somebody needing them.

Brown always goes to the frame for the roof lights, Red (or Green) goes to the bulb direct connection, Brown/White (or White) goes to the switched connection. The doors are the same except both Brown and Brown/White both go to the switch. Select the direction (up/down) you prefer most for the switch for the permanently on Vs door switched - usually you will want to have Up & Down equate to the same function on both sides - but to do this, due to orientation - you will need to swap the switch connections on one side, just try it and see. It will become clear
The colors in parenthesis are used in the hatch wiring vs the roof/door wiring

Thank you, Alan! I did the hatch correctly but like confirmation before going further!
sunday is late as i have been stepping around these things for quite some time, listed them on this site, listed them on ebay, and have had promises made that never materialized. No offense.

You know, I need to loosen up a little. I don't want to be known as the guy that throws away rare original parts due to impatience. I guess I have to hold them another week. I do have some seats for sale as well. See the "leftovers" thread if interested.
