Very not cool. I frantically checked my bookmarks and breathed a sigh of relief. For a moment I thought my days of 928 wrenching were over.

Quick, someone backup and archive.
Another good cause for O/C, maybe. Sure does delivery benefits to many owners, and must be some cost associated with keeping it accessible?

So what ever happened with Dwayne? He had an awesome following, multiple 928's and then suddenly, he was no longer around. It got real quiet and nobody ever said anything about his disappearance. Was it the politics of this site, which can be very brutal or what? Inquiring minds REALLY want to know.

Hello everyone! I'm still here and loving the 928's. I've really missed reading the forum regularly and working on 928 DIY repair write-ups - I will certainly get back to that in the future!
My time for the last few years has been consumed by a couple of construction projects - 1) re-landscaping the font yard of our current home with some significant concrete, masonry, and iron work (just completed in March (a 2 year project) and 2) building a new 2800 sqft shop/garage in Oregon (future site for Dwayne's Garage) (a 3 year project) - just passed the final building inspection this month. For both of these projects, I've been doing all the work myself (well, 90% of it anyway) so it's been quite an investment of time especially since I have a day job too. ....Oh, of course, I've taken lots of pictures of the construction projects too. I'd be happy to post some but they don't have any 928 content so probably not appropriate to post here.
I've been working on the 928s as needed during this time but it's been mainly standard maintenance. I am, however, thinking seriously about selling Iris to help carry the shop/garage project across the finish line. So, I'll be spending some time preparing Iris for her new potential owner.
Anyway, just wanted to check in since someone had asked "what happened to Dwayne?" I miss the camaraderie and look forward to participating more regularly in the future.
...Only one more construction project after the shop is complete - the house.

Dwayne! You don't know me from Adam but thank you for the post. Many of the mechanically ungifted, unwashed masses like me looked at your write-ups as a "Yeah....maybe I CAN do this" guide to wrenching on our 928's. My question was more base on fears that you: a) got ill b) lost the faith ......see 928sg/Sterlings' post today c) ran into family/financial "issues" that caused you to vanish. Hell, it was ONLY building a garage and some landscaping? Glad to see that all is well for you and that your projects are nearing completion; except the house. A house is like a 928.....it's never, ever done - there is ALWAYS something else to repair, upgrade or tweak. Good luck on the sale of 'Iris' and we all look forward to you being back on the boards with your great write-ups.
