Thanks to Rob and Marks help, we got a few things done today. Injectors replaced, and tried another warm up regulator and fuel distributor since we could barely get it to start and then it would not increase RPM at all.
Got it restarted with all the new bits, fan reinstalled with the correct aluminum and air pump bracket tensioner that was missing. Ran very well
If you are having problems finding 78 parts out there, and need the plastic cowl piece, that covers the heater motor...I have one. And I believe I have an original radiator cap, too.
Parted out #0613 this summer and have a few things I can part with.
yesterday, Miverva '78 was put back on the road, albeit in less than prime form. But it starts, shifts gears, brakes, and turns (and smokes!)
There is a ton of oil, dirt, grime, and schmeg all over the mechanical side of the car, so today it gets a major steam clean so we can see what we are doing (and my wife will allow the car in the garage)

We found where a previous owner had cut the torque tube tunnel to access the shifter pin(?), so they are trying to be careful not to blast water into the back seat area. Too bad someone tried a shortcut there, another area to address.
Still, all in all a some very encouraging discoveries.
Interesting. Shouldn't have been an issue to get at stuff back there? Could this have been some sort of early car fix at Porsche given the nature of a first model year 928? Might be worth looking into before you "fix" it?
