'Re the center vent **** - generally, it's an AC vs. non-AC thing. But I've seen odd combinations.

Small vs. large louvers changed somewhere around mid-78 (approx Jan 1978).

Congratulations!! When I saw this thread I immediately contacted Mark where he said it was already spoken for. I would love to have an OB with cork interior and I love that blue color! Best of luck getting it back up to speed!

Mark - alternative Mercedes injector 0437502047 - shorter than the original but works perfectly and cheaper of course.

Thanks, Jarrod, very kind words. The last year looking for a new 928 has been a very long one, but worth the wait. Love this OB and will update the entry as things progress.

I am looking at the wheel finish and wondering if you guys know the proper way to restore to original. I looks like it is unfinished out of the casting, but can't tell is that is just the finish wearing off or how they were.

As always, input appreciated!

Post a good pic of one (or more) of the wheels.

IIRC, the phone dials were originally painted. Semi-gloss, almost a matte finish.

Given the corrosion delta between the inner rim and the wheel face, I'd say they were painted.

(red square is blocking out the name of the PO....)
