1978 5sp #107 just arrived - aka the restoration of Minerva

Our cats do the same. "Mom, mom - James didn't feed us..." "James, James - mom didn't feed us"
They do not speak to me. They know I know their game and resistance is futile.
928 content - This thread is the visual standard for high-mileage 928 restos.
Obviously a low mile original car is going to be different. But this is great. It reminds me why I like these cars still.
Rob - taubenblau GT next? Or would you rather work on your own cars? I know I would.
In your travels, did you find any stashes of sunroof-delete headliners?

2 steps forward, one step backward
Excellent fun for this Monday evening assembly session!
Rob finished the CV joint rebuilds and installed rear axle, and I learned e-brake installation.
Yesterday we also got the rear hatch liners back in and looking good. When we were in final prep to reinstall the hatch glass trim, we noticed the broken retaining tabs. Those tabs are fastened with screws behind the interior trim that we had reinstalled, so out it came again. Temporary and small setback, but hateful to have to undue progress as we are seeing the finish line getting closer.
Pirelli P7's, the old tread pattern and not the new, "revised" tire of the same name. One of the few options Minerva came with were those classic P7s. I can't find them anywhere, new or remade. Anyone know anything helpful? I do have a temporary solution, and they will be mounted on the wheels tomorrow. But I am committed to getting those P7s if at all possible, any help is more than welcome.

William cleaned that CV joint cage- we needed a good used one, as 1 of the 4 originals was badly pitted. This was the 'donor' axle earlier this evening, before I turned William loose on it with the cleaning supplies.
Glad to be done with axle rebuilds!

Are you sure that's a real car, and not a model? That is just....crazy clean. I don't think I've ever seen even a brand new car that is that clean. I saw a video of a guy with a Ferrari Berlinetta Boxer of some sort, where his garage was basically a part of his living room, so this perfect piece of art was always on display (allegedly, he still drove the car, not sure I believe it).
This car deserves that same treatment.

I'm starting to see less and less parts around the parameter of the garage.
Looks great!
I hope you post this entire thread, your portion, not comments...in the Offical 78-79 topic. It would be nice to have the pictures and info all in one place. So many times, I sak a question within a thread...and never can remember later where it was. But, if it was all under one roof...easy-peasy.
Brian.

Brian, I'd be happy to post stuff in the 78/79 thread, the hitch is I'm up to 5054 files in my 'Minerva' pictures folder. Of course most of those are clinker pictures, but I have 265 posts in this thread. Not sure how to move all my posts over but I can probably do some at a time.
Actually there were quite a few, William did some aggro therapy on them with various blunt instruments and BFHs. You can get to a surprisingly large swath ot the frame rails through the holes in the seat bases, just a matter of the right angle and the right amount of force.
Not that a 3/8 ratchet extension is the _right_ tool, but it works:
No dents in the chassis rails and floor, very nice.
