If nothing is "not working", which would be unbelievable for any 928, then I'd guess that someone has monkeyfarted around with bypassing the fuel pump relay or something. But, again...more info would
be beneficial.

Hi Deputy

I believe fuse 13 was missing. I unpluged the connect to get at better look and moved it over the panel. The heater fan inside the car stopped working then a few weeks later the motor for the lights stopped, that's when I opened the panel.

I hope I can get the car back on the road. I truly enjoy driving it.

H7 is 3 black (unfused) wires to the alternator exciter lamp feed, the Mileage Counter and Central Warning module. There aren't any other black wires.

The connectors number as (from wire side - plugged into panel) bottom left 1, top left 4, bottom right 5, top right 8

Hi Alan

So I finally had a chance to look at the wiring again today and I have to admit I'm really discouraged. I opened the area where the OXS unit is next to the passenger seat and the wiring there is also melted. I took the ohm meter and checked continuity and the brown (which I believe is ground) and blue wire both have continuity to the H connector. Am I on the right track?

Please forgive me but I have so many questions.

1) when I follow the wire harness it seems to flow to the drivers side, but yet the blue wires seem to go to the OXS

2) could the OXS melt the wire like that?

3) I also found wires that are not connected to anything, one of them I know belong to each other but are not connected. Do you know what its for? Also there are others that are red fused wires. I think these were for an alarm or for an old mobile phone. Do you know what they are for? See picture

4) There is a transformer that has two red wires and two brown wires with a male and female connect both different colours do they connect together?

The unit in the right door sill panel is a counter. No one knew then how long an oxygen sensor would last, so Porsche put a mileage counter in to give a guessimate of when to change the sensor. The counter has no relation whatsoever to reality in any sense, and serves no useful function. Feel free to disconnect and remove it.

The "transformer" is an electrical "choke", used to reduce electrical noise coming in on the radio power leads.

Thanks Wally, is the choke suppose to have two different wire colours? Could it cause the H connector wire to overheat and melt?
