Yup - which is why you want an ohm reading. Unlike a hall-effect sensor (e.g. CPS) where you get voltage and need an o-scope to read it.

i figured this out after the fact. i was in the process of using the signal to add speed/gear information to my Mega Squirt data log function. and i was getting real crappy results with the conditioner circuit i made. do to me thinking it was a VR sensor...... now i have that signal nice and cleaned up. works like a champ
