What would you change if you could
My budget, so I could hire a personal mechanic for the one I have and another one I want.
If I did not like the car as it is, I would not buy one.

Friggin cup holder. I do like my coffee. Okay, I'm a yuppie, but I want a cup holder.
Second on the timing chain idea, but not a chain......a more accessible belt designed to be replaced easier.
And one other thing.....
A Radarator......that's a radiator made of radar jamming material.

1. 4.11: 1 gears. More suited to US driving.
2. A 6th gear which would be a heavy overdrive.
3. Manual seats, mirrors, and sunroof. That would probably save 60 pounds.
4. Volkswagen's pneumatic door locks. GAWD they work well!
5. A cruise control brain that lasts longer than 10 years.
-VU: If you had my car, you'd love my lights. I have the REAL European H4 headlights, equipped with motorcycle bulbs. Despite the fact that I have them aimed down...I still get people flashing their brights at me, thinking I've left the hi-beams on. Brights? I wish my 747 had lights like this when I try to land in the murk and mud of Khabarovsk-
-VU Again: You'd be satisfied with my Euro's 310 hp for about three weeks. Then you'd be surfing F.A.S.T's website all the time and chatting with the tire-burning motorcycle-eating hooligan known as "Lagavulin" about how you can find a fix for your newly-acquired horsepower addiction.
Frankly, I would change very little about the looks of the car: I own brown bell-bottom jeans, matching tightly-fitted brown turtlenecks, and narrow-lensed dark sunglasses just so that I can fit with the car's '70's chic styling. Ever read "Wallpaper" magazine? They ought to make the 928 their signature car-

Snap my fingers? OK. There! Now I have a 350HP 2004 Porsche 928 Phoenix, with two doors, room for a pair of 5'9" adults in the back and two 6'2" adults in the front. A window sticker of 50K, All aluminum body like th Audi A8, a cooling system that fails "safe" and 2800 lb. curb wt. and a sunroof that is large enough to actually let in the sun. how's that? Oh and what Wolfmanster said. Timing Chain - Ruf

I think the only thing my 90 GT needs is a better A/C system. One more in line with the newer systems that control the fan and temperature. The rest of it is near perfect. The seats, the engine, the gearbox, every thing is just fine and makes me smile every time I get in and drive

First I'd like to move the alternator high on the passenger side of my '83 euro.so it doesn't hit on every high manhole cover. I'd also like 'catcher's mask' grills like on a '54 Vette to protect the headlights in the nose, so I don't break another lens. It cost me $180 just for the glass lens.

I'd love to see a better highway cruise gear, like a vette's 6th gear.
I'd like a flush center console.
I'd like more power, like the AMGs I drive at work. But I am adding more power so that should be handled.
I'd like the hood to seamlessly flow into the windshield like my Jetta Sport Wagen and hide the wipers. God I hate the looks of the wipers on the 928.

You had to dig deep for this one.
Porsche could easily do this and create one of the best cars ever. Take an 85 928S, slightly modify the body - 1 inch lower, 1 inch wider, keep the frog eyes, but new modern parking lights and air intakes, GTS like rear flares, Carbon Fiber GTS mirrors, CF front spoiler and CF rear wing like Jaquemond's.
Keep the spider intake modified to perform like a V8 version of the 991 GT3 engine, (3.8 liter dry sump producing 475bhp @ 8250rpm's) X 33% = a new 5.1 V8, dry sumped, producing 635bhp @ 8250rpm 450 tq.
Painted CF body panels for a weight of 3200lbs. 7 speed DCT transmission for 0-60 3.0. Wide wheels, magnetic shocks, and carbon ceramic brakes. All the new electric gizmo's inside but no real interior changes.
