Guys, does anybody have a good to excellent 5 speed transmission with 2.20 rear end. Must have the 2.20 as I already have the GT box with 2.73. If you don't have one but know what price one should cost please advise. My dollar is down so be kind, and I do mean it is way way down!
I am shipping out of L.A, so the West Coast would be preferred.
Are you looking for a G28.11 (85-86) or G28.13 (87-88)? My guess on value for a good one of each (ie- no chipped teeth, input shaft flanges intact and not cracked at the bases, shift lever spring intact, synchros and sliders in good shape) would be $2K and $2500 respectively, in that ballpark.
I would try to get the later type that came in the S4, there was some minor upgrades that are probably worthwhile given the trouble to ship it a long distance.
I have one from an '83 Euro with the 220 limited slip differential installed just in case you are interested...
Greg specifically means he wants the 5-speed with the 2.20 final drive ratio (not option M220 LSD). So he can turn lower rpm's at higher speeds than the stock RoW S4 2.63 or GT 2.72 final drive ratios.
Only the USA got the 2.20 higher gearing, in 87/88 S4's (USA 89S4 switched to the RoW ratio).
