The lighter set looks to be MSDS for a 16v. Not sure about the others... Good price. Worth a roll of the dice for someone. I already have headers on all my cars, otherwise I would get them.

Wow. The width of the darker set almost looks like you could drop the bell housing without loosening the headers. I've never seen those. Seems like a hell of good deal on either one.

That's why I think those are 85-86

If one of these would fit a 85 Euro, I would be interested.

Mark, in terms of what will "fit" my understanding has always been the two bolt flange fits any 16V engine but would require some custom fabrication of a Y-pipe or connector. Is that incorrect? I had assumed this was true since 16V guys bolt up the 85/86 stainless manifolds with minor modifications.

If shipping and import taxes wasn't so crazy for stuff coming from the US into the Netherlands, at least one of these sets (preferably dark set) would be mine now

Default Used headers

Hi mark, looking for aftermarket headers for my '78 5spd. If they fit, I would like to purchase these from you. Also along the way, used 84-86 manifolds too as one shipment if possible. Let me know and I can call you to finish the transaction. My shipping address zip is 19317.

Last question, do you or roger sell the y pipes that would make these compatible with my future borla cat back system?

Thanks-Hoi

I've heard that but I cannot confirm

Yes, these should fit any 16v car. However, they will require you to have the rest of the exhaust fabricated to take it from the flanges back to the tail fo the car. Any exhaust shop can do this for a reasonable sum depending on what kind of material you're looking for.

I think Carl might sell a setup to go from the MSDS headers to the back, but you'll have to check.

On my 85 Euro and the Coke car, I have MSDS headers that then mate into a Y then into a single 3.5" sewer pipe that make the care super loud and lots of fun to drive.

The lighter headers are the same ones that are on my '80. I know them well. The big PIA is when you need to pull the bottom half of the bell housing you have to unbolt the headers and pull them aside.
Any good muffler shop can connect them to a cat. I have never had a problem going thru smog cert with them. How much do they help? There seems to be a big debate on this, they do look cool and they do seem to alter the exhaust note somewhat.

My MSDS headers look more like the darker ones in the picture as the collectors are flush across at the end instead of ending at an angle as the lighter colored headers in the picture.

And yes, at least one header must be loosened to remove the lower bell housing. Maddening!!!
