Default Steering rack shims

Hello,

I’m in the middle of rebuilding my steering rack.
I have 3 steering racks, and I have them all a part, this because my current rack seams to be to worn. But last year I put Delrin bushes in my old rack, and I cant get them out… so if I choose to use one of the other racks I need another set of delrin bushes… which takes long. Because of shipping to the Netherlands… and I would like to put it under the car again tomorrow

So I was thinking can I put the internals of a other rack in my old external housing.. (the one with delrin bushes) the steering rod gets aligned with the slider “cup” (number 30) and this one is shimed. About this I found some information on the internet that the float / play should be 0.1mm so that I can measure (info from links below)

But the whole pinion assembly is a bit unknown. I checked all the washers/shims at the axial bearings 52, 80 & 92
52 & 80 are exactly the same thick. But 92 is different between all 3 of the racks. So I can assume that the tension/position of the pinion in the housing is determent by that washer.

Is there anybody on the forum that can tell me what the method is to determent the thickness of this washer? Then I can see if I can change the internals. I think rebuilders probably have all the information, but is anybody willing to share this?

I hope my story comes over a bit clear….
Many thanks in advance
