My garage space is distributed around the compound. After I occasionally clean out this shed, as I'm doing in this photo, it can protect various vehicles from rain, snow or sun - but not birds or pine pollen. The other five structures of the compound are new in the last 15 years, so people wonder what this 100-year-old shed is doing here. It was originally built to house the first cars that guests brought from NYC to the B&B my wife's family ran, across the road. That was in the 1920's, when you didn't store fine automobiles outside. Guests previously arrived by train to the Riverside Station, along the Upper Hudson. Automobile travel was too adventurous for full families at first, so the husband drove up alone. Families stayed the whole summer, to escape the hot city.

The shed was moved across the road at some point to house equipment and firewood. I like the automobile history, so I'm keeping it. Vintage garage ****? It somehow survived the "Blowdown of 1995" that flattened the forest around it, but I recently added some internal bracing.

Oh - removing the differential fill plug of the Bugeye Sprite needed an odd tapered square tool. I vaguely recalled seeing something like it among the detritus in the shed, found it (amazing in itself), and it fit perfectly!

Picked up an 85' last week with some member's help and to keep the restoration going for another Rennlister who took great care of it. This one is my wife's car now. Cleaned them up after SITM 2021 and put them both in the shop for the first time...Since we are about the #flex here....a little Garage **** for you

The garage / workshop building as well as the house were newly painted in 2016. White walls get dirty easily. Recently cleaning / washing each wall of all the buildings was a hard time consuming job that took several days. I'm glad I have a very helpful wife. Using a high-pressure sprayer does not work, in addition, water comes behind the wood panel. You have to scrub the walls and rinse in the same way as you wash a car.
