928 Garage ****
I haven't seen a dedicated garage thread for awhile.
I'm sure you guys have some awesome set ups, I'd love to see more of them.
I'll go first, to set the stage: Three beers to complete putting my tools away late last night and the 17 minute version of Cortez the Killer plays in the background.

(Edit: I just remembered that I had a whole thread on this from 9 years ago: Another garage improvement project completed (need lots o' bandwidth for this))
The main thing I've got going is storage. Lots of storage, as these photos from about 9 years ago show. It hasn't really changed much since then, although it has become a little more cluttered.
A little more clutter is evident in these more recent photos:
The workbench is now loaded with all sorts of crap and needs a major cleanup. No photos of that (too embarrassing).
I guess I should show a couple of "before" pictures, too. When we first moved in (early 2006), it looked like this (after I removed a few shelves and stuff left by the previous owner):
Fixing up the garage was one of the first "house projects" I did after we moved in. Did it all myself except for the epoxy floor.

We added the 3rd bay on to the front of our place in '09 with the lift in mind. Wish it was wider, but that's all the variance we could get from the city. There's a single-car detached to the right of this photo, but not enough real estate to make it a double due to an easement.
Not much of a before and after, except for the stuff on the walls and extra clutter. It has a bit more clutter now, including an additional car (the '84 930), so now there's always one on the lift whether in work or storage... and my DD truck still gets parked driveway. The '84 GTI usually lives in the detached.
We did take our builder's sage advice to spring for a wide driveway when we had the house built in '96, both for maneuvering and big PCA parties!

Cabinets? Logical Cabinetry Systems (now apparently part of AUM Wood Products (see catalog), are related to Logical Garage, Schiller Custom Cabinetry). That was one of the lines carried by the local garage specialty shop I used at the time.

These are great
My contribution... double 2-car garage up top with a work area to the side. The right side double is 10' longer than the left side double in order to house our 23' wakeboard boat on the trailer in the winter (neighborhood covenants). In the summer the lift switches position and holds the empty trailer. I have a 5th garage around the side where the 914 is kept most of the time, but it's just big enough to squeeze in one of the 911s or the 928 if the need arises.
Ceiling height is 11'4" and both doors are high lift with jackshaft openers. Cartop carrier for SUV is mounted to the ceiling - back under it, lower down, & go. Heated and cooled with a couple ceiling fans to keep the air moving. Recessed flourescent office lights to keep the ceiling flush.
Lift is a custom 7,000 lb Backyard Buddy with dual pneumatic bridge jacks, extra bunks that make it wide enough to support the boat trailer, narrow enough for the 914, and high enough to store our pickup or SUV under it when the trailer is on-top (or 2 stacked cars). With the addition of the 928 Spyder, my truck is now outside year-round - poor thing.
Work shop area has dual work benches, tool chests, built in 80 gal compressor, band saw, drill press, bench grinder, bench sander (disc & belt), radial vice, welder, pretty much anything I'd need to work on any of the P-cars or most anything else.

Just started setting up the garage 3 months ago with my building the 8 ft long bench and installing shelves with materials from Home Depot. Had professions put down epoxy flooring and install the 4-post Bendpak lift (9000 lb). However, I have a long way to go in setting up more storage space and "decorating" it.
Ed, what type of overhead storage racks did you put in your garage? I am thinking of doing the same thing to take advantage of the high ceilings.
To everyone, have you installed a separate climate control system for the garage? Like a mini-split? Is it worth it?
Thank you for posting pics and giving us inspirations. Keep them coming!
I am actually leaning against the minivan to take this pic.
