Default AC High side Line

Hey gang,

Still trying to sort AC on my 87S4. Got new compressor & drier. EV is new also. I removed all desiccant from high side line at EV to the Y connection that leads to rear AC. Also removed it from the line leading to valve under the seat. My questions are:
1. How do I remove the high side line where it attaches to the drier?
2. Should I be able to blow air into the high side where it attaches to the drier and get air out the high side at the EV?
3. The high side is on the right hand side of the drier as I'm standing in front of the car looking at the rear...correct?

In general, all of your hi side (hi pressure) hard lines are physically a smaller diameter than the low side lines. They disconnect with obvious large hex fittings that have internal o-rings. Hit them with PbBlaster or similar if they have never been apart. You can certainly blow through any of the lines with dried shop air. On my car I disconnected the high side line at the drier and at its other end at the expansion valve and blew brake cleaner through it until it blew clean. I did the same with the low side hard lines. Not sure about your last question. If you look at the PET (downloadable from Porsche) for the 87 and later cars, illustration 813-25, all the lines are shown. To my eyes, the line on the right side of the drier connects to the outlet of the condensor. The hard line to the expansion valve connects on the left side of the drier. Facing the rear of the car.

Sorry about the humongous PET figure!

Thank you. That's what I've been looking for.

So I have the high side disconnected at the drier & the Y connection underneath the car. I've run AC power clean thru it. I get AC flush from underneath it. I don't get air straight through when I blow air into it. I'm using canned compressed air and the lines literally frost over when I blow it into one end.

Should I not be using compressed air? Should I get air though like I'm getting the fluid? (I know the answer to that).
