Did you guys get the same careful packaging I did? .......... the MAF loose in the box with no protection whatsoever.
Mine only as the Bosh part number on it. It does look the same as what's on the car but it doesn't carry the Porsche number.

I just received mine today (which took many e-mails to Juan before shipping).
I noticed on the barrel, opposite side of where the plug goes in, is what looks like the rectangular remains of an adhesive of some sort---like a label was removed.
Anyone else's part looks like this?

Hey David,
mine was the same. That Bosh part also works on some BMW model. I assume that these had a BMW sticker instead of the Porsche one and he didn't want questions or returns over a misunderstanding. But the Bosh part # is molded in the plastic and it is the right one.

I did some pm's at the begiining of this new MAF deal and along with that careful packaging you will notice that we did not get a plug over the adjustment screw, but it certainly looks factory fresh.

Well I have had mine in my car for a week or so now, was concerned about a rattle when I got the MAF but it was just the screen moving ... phew. Anyway car returns to idle much more consistantly now and I had a slight surging on part throttle .. also gone.
Anyway well pleased with it, specially for the price.

It is my understanding that Jon Holdsworth will be attending Frenzy 7 from England with a John Speake rebuilt MAF for demo, just as he did at Euro 928 2003. So come on down to Frenzy 7 and pop it in and see if it helps your 928's performance. Looks like you all know where to find John Speake if it does.

Yes, it is possible to upgrade an '88 LH ECU '89 spec. I charge $75. You can fit the chip yourself. The '88 ECU has diagnostics
Also, even the '87 year cars are wired for diagnostics, with the same connector as used on the '88 models. It's on a 12 pin rectangular connector near the ECUs.
With an EPROM swap any '87 LH ECU car can be also upgraded for Diagnostics.

I just bought one form Juan as well. He is shipping mine out and I will let you know when I get it. Is the MAF under the air filter? I havent even bothered looking yet. How long doe it take, what is involved on an S3?

Yes, the MAF is under the air filter lower housing. It takes about 10 minutes or less to replace on an S3. Take off the top cover, remove the 2 10mm nuts or bolts on either the left or right side, loosen the spider clamp, remove the wire connector, and thats it.
