Y33trekker, do your wheels have tires on them? If so in good usable shape? Not sure how much it would cost to ship those but my budget is blown already with just the cost of the wheels...

I found a thread here with all sorts of pictures of Rennlister's cars and their wheels, very helpful. There was one car with the Fuchs mounted, did not look right to me. Found several attractive wheels but way out of budget. Leaning towards the Carerra IIIs in chrome or a few different wheels painted black like the Cup 1s and Turbo Twists. Still a few pages left to view.

^^ This is why I've stuck with the 18" Turbo Twist hollows. Plenty of choice for 18" tires. 993 guys pay beaucoup for them too, as much or more than CS wheels. CS wheels go on in the summer even though "shoes" are aging.

JParanee, I really like the look of that car. can you tell more about the tire/wheel combo? also can anyone tell me if the space is the same in MY86.5 wheel wells as newer body style?

Those wheels have a 45 offset on the front. No good for a 928. A good option for aftermarket is Sport Edition from Tire Rack like what's on ChuckZ's former GTS.

But after reviewing a bunch of other posts I am left confused if they can be made to fit.

Diameter is okay, width I think is okay for the front but 11" in the rear would require body modification? Offset for the front needs to be at least 55mm on a '78 so a 10mm spacer is needed?

I might have to re-read all the stuff I found but my head is spinning with information overload.

They do have tires at the moment, but mainly due to age, I would not recommend using them.

I would be willing to have a shop remove them to save on shipping if your budget would allow for paying for the removal.

Thank you

I put them on 26 years ago

They are BF G Force

Rear 255/40 ZR 17

Front 235/45 ZR 17

There are an abundance of decent moderately priced tires

If I were shopping today I would do something from Fifteen 52 like. I did on my 911

I would love to see a set of Magnus Walker Outlaws on a 928

But they are big bucks and one set this year is enough

The old Etoilles are fine for me and I always get big compliments on them

I took the easy way out and am having the phone dials powder coated black. Will splurge on new tires and have to track down and repair a fuel tank leak and oil leak among other things. Plus the family caught wind of the extra funds I had available and needed back to school shoes etc.
