GTS for $6000
I'm restoring a '67 SWB Porsche for a nice 40 year old "911 guy". He really liked my 83S and said he once owned a 1978 928.
Anyway, he then told me he knows of a GTS in NJ for $6000 that hasn't run in 10 years. I asked if he's let me take a look and he said "well i flip about 6 cars a year"
So i guess he's keeping it under raps. It's killing me knowing this.

If it's not a total pile of poo, why would he even tell you about it before he already owned it? Curious.

He won't tell me who owns it and shut up real quick..and i didn't care to press him on it.
I'm sure he wants it for himself. He finds a lot of Porsches cheap (somehow) in NJ.
He's telling the truth, he owns a 365 and several 911s not a liar by any means imo.
But he is just waiting i guess until he's ready to buy it, have it fixed? and flip it.
As we develop a friendship maybe he'll change his mind and take me to see it.
I was surprised how much he and his Buddy (who also owns a '70 911S) liked my '83S.
I thought they might turn there noses up and ignore it sitting there but instead took pictures and asked tons of questions. Really cool.

I've got a hard wooden chair, a rubber hose, and a bright light. Give me a day, he'll talk.

I have leverage with what the resto is worth,
I'll ask for the owner's contact info when he starts blinking at the costs involved. If that doesn't work I'll use some pre-recorded Hillary speeches
(hard to believe she's paid so highly to talk, but what difference does it really make?)

Three Wheelin'
I had a buddy that popped off to some small town police and got to stay overnight with them.
He was confused when they both got out phone books.
Apparently the phone books are so they don't leave any marks...
We could try that next.

I don't know any more than i've told as i don't want to press him on this yet.
But I also assume that something big went wrong at $6000 GTS asking price.
Once I impress him with the welding skills, I'll ask for the contact info bc I'm really hooking this guy up ($) building his short wheel base 911 hot rod.
He stands to make big bucks if he goes and flips the swb car so i feel it is fair he gives me a shot at owning a GTS on the cheap.
