Default E brake cable question

So on my 88 S4 the PO was nice enough to give me all the ebrake components in a box, they were taken off because the ebrake was dragging. So I lubed and freed up the cables and now putting it back together. I am trying to attach the ebrake cable to the actuator at the wheel, do I just spread the end of the cable to fit it over the protruding studs on the actuator or is there something I am missing? I didn't take it apart so it's a bit of a puzzle for me!

Thanks!

OK figured it out, the end of the ebrake cable attaches to the actuator with a little round pin, mine was so rusted it looked like it wasn't removable! Anyways got them out soaking in lube right now and will get it back together.

Cosmo did you have to disassemble the e-brake merchandise inside rotor when you installed cable? I have a new cable as legacy from PO that I'd like to install sometime, but always resent fiddling with shoes, spreader, springs.

Best

All my ebrake components came in a box and it was like a puzzle putting them back together. Judging on my re assembly I would say you should be able to get the cable attached by just pulling out the spreader and leave the springs and the shoe adjusters in there.
